Family Liaison

Dear Families:

Nicole SullivanMy name is Nicole Sullivan and I am the Peabody School’s Family Resource Liaison. My main purpose at the Peabody is to be accessible to all families and caregivers. The Peabody was the school my husband Neil and I chose for our daughter Julia 11 years ago. It is a decision that we have never regretted.

Things have changed in some ways since I was a “new” parent here at Peabody, but something that has remained constant, is that the Peabody cares for all of our children. My first experiences with the Peabody School were that of a nervous mom, sending my baby to school for the first time. I was met with warmth, compassion and understanding. As the years went by and I continued to volunteer, I was so enchanted by the atmosphere here. The Peabody is a wonderful place for our children.

These eleven years later, I now have two children in this building. My son Andrew is in the Rindge Avenue Upper Campus; my little guy Bailey is in second grade this year. I have just sent my oldest, Julia to Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School this week. She is a proud Peabody Alum! I have had first hand experience with every facet of this building. There is no other place I would want my family to be.

As an employee, I have the distinct privilege of being the person that gives families their first, important glimpse of the many things that Peabody has to offer. I also write our weekly newsletter, the Peabody Planet. Among my other duties and interests within the school, I sit on the School Council. I facilitate, along with parent volunteers, a club that we let the children determine what the focus will be. It is very interesting to see what they come up with for us to do! I am deeply passionate about school enrichment. I believe it is vital that all of our children have access to experiences they would not normally have. I, along with the Principal and my colleagues, plan many enrichment activities for our children.

Most recently I now serve on the Family Engagement Planning Team for the District. I represent the School Based Liaisons on this group. We are using our framework from our training with Karen Mapp on a common family engagement goal for the District. This is wonderful work and I am honored to be a part of it.

If you would like to schedule a tour, discuss the school or are a current parent or caregiver that want to have a discussions, contact me anytime. I also look forward to meeting with our families.

I look forward to seeing you soon.
