Update on National Geo Bee Competition

Update on National Geo Bee Competition
Posted on 05/05/2020
Our Peabody school Geo Bee champion Nathan James had to give a qualifying test to be one of the 100 qualifiers for the State level competition. The competition is for 4th to 8th Grade kids so qualification was a tough ask. Nathan did great and qualified for the Massachusetts State bee - one of only two 4th graders from the entire state that made it!

Nathan has been preparing for the state level competitions but given the current situation a decision was made by National Geographic GeoBee to cancel the 2020 competitions.

Recently, Nathan was invited along with his family and the Peabody Bee coordinators to join National Geographic GeoBee for a virtual recognition ceremony. The event was a lot of fun with Alex Tait answering questions live from students and there was also a live GeoBee “Kahoot!” game including some questions drawn from state-level competitions.

Please join us in congratulating Nathan for his accomplishment.

We look forward to more Geo Bee competitions at Peabody next year. Students, keep working on your Geography knowledge and regularly test your skills here.
