Congratulations to the winners of the Cambridge Public Library/Cambridge Tree Project Eighteenth Annual Poetry Awards from the Peabody School! This year we received nearly 1,000 entries, making for a tough competition! We congratulate everyone who entered for their wonderful poems.

Our winners are:

  • Nico Nesson, First Place (tie), Second Grade for his untitled poem beginning “Shimmer in my window”
  • Ellis Barnes, Second Place (tie), Second Grade for his untitled poem beginning “I woke up frantic and distressed”
  • Rebekah Gonzalez, Third Place (tie), Third Grade for “Knowledge”
  • Aniah Beaton, Honorable Mention, Third Grade for “Reading”
  • Bezawit Mekonnen, First Place (tie), Fourth Grade for “Classroom Music”
  • Yosuke Terashita, First Place (tie), Fourth Grade for
    “A Place Called Home”
