Dance in the SchoolsLeslie Williams-Dunn's students are participating in two sessions of Dance in the Schools. Instructed by Erica Sigel, the first lesson focused on spatial awareness of others around us, small whole body movement, and crossing the midline movements. For the spatial awareness exercise Erica had the children partner up side-by-side and put their arms on the others shoulder. Then they walked, skipped, and danced around the classroom -- aka, the jungle -- trying to avoid being eaten by lions, crocodiles, and avoiding volcanoes. The children had a blast!

Dance is the Schools is a wonderful program that Cambridge Public Schools can participate in during the month of March each year. It focuses on classroom curriculum and movement in the classroom. This is the ninth year teacher, Leslie Williams-Dunn has participated in the program and the excitement and love for dance continues to show on each child's smiling face each year.
