Greetings Peabody School!

My name is Sean D’Abbraccio or “Mr. DAb” and I am your new 4th Grade Teacher. First and foremost, thanks for welcoming me into your amazing community. This is my sixteenth year as an elementary educator. I am so excited to share my passions and skills with you and your children. I earned my undergraduate degree from UMass Boston and completed my Masters Degree at Lesley College. Ironically, my first student teaching experience was here in Cambridge at the Graham & Parks School in the year 2000 and I am pleased to be back!

I have spent the last five years teaching math and science at a small private school on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I especially enjoyed the tropical environment and the wonderful diversity of students and families. Sadly, hurricanes Irma and Maria devastated the island forcing my family to relocate to our home state. Before the island life, I taught 3rd grade for 10 years at the Alcott School in Concord, MA.

I love incorporating technology into my classroom and truly enjoy hands on experiential learning. In my free time, I love to play basketball, go hiking, and I am also a practicing mosaic artist. At home, I have a supportive wife named Crystal, a couple creative kids named Sky and Kaden and a fluffy white dog named Ziggy. I have traded my paddleboard for a snowboard and look forward to a successful and exciting year here at Peabody!

Best,

Mr. DAb

anitaMeet the School Nurse

Hello Peabody Staff and Parents,

My name is Anita Barandao, RN and I wanted to introduce myself as the new school nurse at Peabody School. I am very excited to become part of this school community.

I have been a nurse for 16 years. While I have practiced in many settings, I especially love school health. My career in school health started 10 years ago in a large elementary school in the Atlanta area. Later, I became the school nurse supervisor and served 11 schools, grades PK-12. Most recently, I am coming from a charter school in Cambridge where I served grades 7-12.

When I am not nursing, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my husband and 2 children.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and serving the Peabody School community. Please feel free to stop in and talk with me, and I am always available to speak with you about any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Anita Barandao, RN, M.Ed.
